Advanced Splinting
Auckland
Workshop Description
This is a 2-day workshop, designed for those already comfortable with fabrication of basic static splints, and looking to advance their skills.
This course has changed over the years, in response to changes in surgeries, treatment approaches, protocols etc, so that every splint taught on this course will be a splint that you may be requested to make in your day-to-day practice as a hand therapist.
It is a practical, interactive two-day workshop, designed to give all participants a good understanding of the theory, biomechanics and principles of static progressive and dynamic splinting and know how to apply these to their Hand Therapy practice.
You will learn the easiest and most effective ways to make these splints, with various tips & tricks along the way! The workshop explains clinical applications for these various splints, and clinical reasoning around splint selection and design options. Your confidence and skill will soar, while having a fun, interactive couple of days with colleagues from across the country.
Splinting truly is our point of difference as Hand Therapists. Enhancing your skill and confidence with advanced splinting will boost your hand therapy practice.
This course has been approved by Hand Therapy New Zealand.
